treat of the week - rice krispie hearts!

Hey lovely people! First off - a ginormous THANK YOU to each and every one of you! I have reached 100 followers, and I am still rather shocked that 100 whole people want to read my ramblings. Keep your eyes peeled for a giveaway to follow shortly!
Anyway, recently I made these cute little treats, and they were so quick and easy, I think everyone should give it a go! I got the idea from the lovely Milk Bubble Tea blog, you can find her recipe here.
It was wonderfully simple - 3 ingredients! 200g rice krispies, 200g marshmallows, 200g butter/non dairy substitute.
Messy table. I never bake without a cup of tea! Favourite of the moment is Twining's Darjeeling. Yum!
All you need to do is melt the butter and marshmallows together on a low heat in a BIG pan. Mine wasn't quite big enough and left me with a pink and sticky hob. Keep stirring until you get a beautiful pink goop, making sure it doesn't get too hot, as the marshmallows could burn. Once you've achieved your glorious gloopy consitency, stir in the rice krispies. Transfer the mix into greased baking trays, I ended up using two casserole dishes as my baking trays were a bit too shallow, and it worked just as well. I then sprinkled white, pink and red mini sprinkles all over the trays to set into the mix as it cooled.
Once it is cool to the touch, use a heart shaped cutter to stamp out your individual heart shaped treats. I found this left me with a lot of left over mix, so as it wasn't yet set, I scooped it up into the heart cutter and used it as a mould, and managed to make a few more hearts out of the leftovers.
Et voila! Leave your hearts to set on greaseproof paper, preferably in the fridge. Try not to eat them all at once!
What have you lovely people been cooking up recently?
