weekend walk

Today I had an absolutely lovely day. Boyfriend's family were visiting, so we enjoyed a day out, starting with a walk on the downs. We visited Devils Dyke, which is a very steep valley with quite an interesting history if you fancy reading up about it! The sun didn't shine but the rain stayed away so it was really nice to be out in the countryside and on the downs.
(I could not pass up an opportunity to wear my Gruffalo wellies!)
After our walk we went for afternoon tea at a pub, and decided we were feeling wonderfully British by this point. I had a pot of Earl Grey and it was lovely!
After this we went to Worthing, a town which I haven't really been to before. It is quite similar to Brighton but on a smaller scale, your typical south coast seaside town. It was rather nice and we even got a little bit of sunshine!
We had a nice stroll along the seafront and on the pier, the sea was nice and calm, even if the air temperature was freezing!
And of course, no trip to the pier is complete without a go (or a few) on the penny slot machines!
I really enjoyed the little arcade on the pier, it didn't look like it had changed much from the 1960's and I loved the brightly colour decor.
So all in all it was a lovely day! What have you lovely people been doing this weekend? Check back tomorrow for some exciting news!
