recap: recent reads

Hello lovelies!
Now if you're anything like me, you'll know that nothing quite comes close to a good book and a cuppa! I love a good story, and will read anything you put in front of me. At the start of this year, some of you may recall that I set myself some goals for the year, one of which is to read 20 books. This may not seem a lot to any avid readers out there, but sadly, leading a busy life means that reading often gets pushed out of the way by seemingly more important things. I recapped my recent reads back in February, which you can read about here. Unfortunately, my list has not got much longer since then, but I am plodding away slowly.
My Kindle really has revolutionised reading for me, as although I may be busy, I can often read just for a few minutes on the go, which is better than nothing at all. My kindle is in my handbag whenever I go out, so whenever I do get a pause, I can continue with whatever I am reading.
I recently read The Silver Linings Playbook by Matthew Quick. It was a short read, but I was hooked from the word go. I read the whole thing on a 3 hour train journey to Brighton, and absolutely loved it. I have heard mixed reviews about the film, so have decided not to watch it just yet, as I don't want to risk ruining how much I enjoyed the story the first time around. I will watch it at some point though, being a bit of a Jennifer Lawrence fan. Speaking of which, check out these pictures of her Oscars facial expressions. I love her too much.
The last thing I read was Inferno, the new novel by Dan Brown in the Robert Langdon series, continuing on from the Da Vinci Code. They may not be considered the most intellectual read, but I really love the whole series, and this new instalment was no exception. It was fascinating and exciting with just the right amount of unexpected twists, so I would definitely recommend a read!
