Review: Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser

I was rather lucky recently and won the Liz Earle #sharethesecret twitter competition to win their famous Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser for myself and a friend. I was so excited about this, as this was one of those products that I'd heard so much about, but felt a bit nervous shelling out nearly £15 for a cleanser, in case I didn't get on with it. The product came in a sweet little matching bag and two muslin cloths to use with it. So many people rave about this cleanser, I couldn't wait to see what all the fuss was about! You'll be pleased to hear that I think it really does live up to the hype, as after one use, I was hooked!
I was actually a little bit surprised by the consistency of the product, which is a really thick cream, thick enough to hold its shape on your hand. You smooth the cream onto dry skin and massage in, and then use the muslin cloth, soaked in hot water, to cleanse and remove the product and polish the skin. The whole process was actually very quick, as it left me with a completely clean face, removing even tough eye makeup residue in one swipe of the cloth. Although it is a cleanser, the best thing about this product is not the cleansing properties, but all the added extras thrown in. The thick cream has magic moisturising powers, and left my skin feeling like I'd just used a mask or intensive hydration treatment. It also left me feeling so soft. Like I-can't-stop-touching-my-own-face kind of soft, and that feeling actually lasted! My pores looked smaller and my skin generally looked brighter too, so that's a great bonus too. I have been using this cleanser most evenings and can see it becoming a firm favourite and a permanent part of my routine!
