It feels like it's been a while. If you didn't know already, the reason for my recent sparse attendance over here is due to a teaching/work placement that has pretty much taken over my entire life. 10+ hour days plus planning and uni work has meant that my short evenings involve sleeping after eating dinner and little else, so the blog has had to take a little mini-holiday while work has come first. I'm into the final straight now, with one more week to go, and my major observations out of the way, so normal programming will be resuming shortly! Even when things have been absolutely manic though, I've found it to be so important for my own health and sanity to take a little break now and then, to relax and clear my mind of school related thoughts and worries. Loz and I took a little bit of time out yesterday to check out the new coffee shop on Lewes Road, Mojo's Coffee House. Quiet and unassuming from the outside with just a small stand-up sign on the pavement, on entering, this sweet little cafe proved to be a calm and relaxed haven to sit, drink coffee and catch up. The decor is simple, but I loved the mix of wooden furniture, comfy chairs, booths with clean white accents. The flower pots on each table really made me smile too. After his 4am shift, Loz opted for a large Americano, served in a bowl to fit in the 4 shots of espresso, which really perked him up a bit! I went for my usual Soya Vanilla Latte which was rather nice. I can see this becoming a regular spot for me, with free wifi and extra large people watching windows, it is the perfect relaxed atmosphere to chill out and take a moment.
