Last week, myself and some other lovely ladies from Brighton were invited along to the Trevor Sorbie salon in The Lanes to find out about all things hair, and trends for the upcoming season. it was so lovely to see Kate (who did my hair and fixed my bleach disaster, read more about that here) and the rest of the Technical Team, who are pictured at the top. It was also a real treat to catch up with the Brighton Bloggers over a glass of fizz! The lovely team went through the most popular trends for hair in SS14, and I was pleased to see so many were wearable, pretty, and easily achievable!
The gorgeous Lauren a.k.a Belle Du Brighton modelled some amazing plaits, styled by the super talented Anna Chapman, who showed us how easy they are to create at home. I won't be wearing them any time soon thanks to my current cropped hair, but if you want to give them a go, she recommended unwashed hair (2/3 days old), plaiting from the base of the head before wrapping them around and pinning them in, and pulling little bits out to add shape and texture. We were then shown a low ponytail, curled then backcombed, gathered at the neck and ruffled to add more texture and shape. The super low ponytail can also be styled poker straight and sleek, but I personally liked the messier version, as it is wearable and easy to recreate! The gorgeous brunette model also showcased Trevor Sorbie's signature Balayage technique, creating soft, natural looking highlights in the hair added by hand.
Other trends include full bleach and pastel dyes, something I am currently lusting over, deep side partings, and tousled waves, all of which are so lovely and perfect for the upcoming warmer weather. Most of these are so easy to try yourself, but if you're stuck, book an appointment with a stylist and a lovely team will style your hair, and teach you how to do it yourself at home!
The Salon also has some amazing deals on at the moment. For £25, you can book a short lunch break style appointment for a quick fix root touch up, recolouring any roots that are peeking through along the parting and hairline to tide you over until your main appointment. This also includes a blow dry, making it a fab money saver too. You can also pop in for a 'Sun Kissed in Seconds' appointment, which is a fantastic way to try out a new look. Adding a few highlights to your hair, you can experience a little taster of lighter hair, to give it a go before you go full blonde!
Next month also features the Salon's 10th birthday, so why not pop in to celebrate with one of their £25 offers! The team are so talented and so friendly, I'd definitely recommend a visit.
