I'm planning a little wardrobe overhaul. I have plenty of clothes, but loads that don't fit me so well any more or aren't so flattering, and loads of clothes that just don't go. I have lovely tops, but no bottoms to wear them with, or pretty skirts with nothing that looks good on top. I always end up buying things that look nice without considering how I'm going to wear or style them. This is all about to change as I'm in the process of working out outfits that actually suit me and sticking to them, and only buying new clothes that I'm actually going to wear. With this in mind I've been doing a little outfit planning, and I thought I'd share some things I have had my eye on. I've gone for a lemon yellow and cobalt blue theme, something I wouldn't normally go for but just looks so pretty when put together!
1. Top
I actually own this Waffle Textured Top from Newlook already in pale blue already. I bought it a few weeks ago and have been wearing it as often as I can since, it's cut beautifully and I find it so flattering for my petite (short) body shape. It looks so pretty in this sweet lemon colour, and as you probably know already, I just can't say no to pastels!
2. Bag
I love everything about this Satchel by Ollie and Nic, the colour, size and shape, and the fact that it's as practical an item as it is a pretty accessory. I think the dark, bold blue compliments the yellow perfectly, and looks like the perfect size to keep all my essentials in for adventures!
3. Lippy
You already know how much I love the matte version, so I'm keen to try this Satin Lip Pencil by Nars in Yu. I think I'm in love with the bright fuchsia pink shade, it's the only lip colour I've been wearing lately, and think it adds such a great bright pop to the outfit without clashing or looking too colour-crazy. Plus, if the staying power and colour payoff is anywhere near as good as the Matte version, I know this pencil and I are going to get on just fine!
4. Ring
All outfits need a bit of bling, and I fell in love with this Beaded Edge Gemstone Ring by Anjolee the moment I saw it. I realise this and their other rings on offer are actually diamond anniversary rings, but in my opinion, what's wrong with buying it for yourself?! I love the stunning blue stones and the delicate settings, this is one of those pieces that would finish an outfit off perfectly.
5. Necklace
Again running with the blue accessories theme, I thought this simple Semi Precious Pendant necklace from Accessorize would go nicely with the neckline of the top without overloading it. I love the teardrop pendant and think matching the ring and the bag would draw it all together nicely.
6. Sandals
I've actually been pining over these Harley Cut Out Sandals for quite some time now, but haven't bought them due to being so darn indecisive thanks to Topshop making them in so many pretty pastel shades. I love the pale yellow as not only would it go well with the outfit as a whole, but the pale shade would look particularly flattering with a tan, and thanks to me living in sandals or flip flops this time of year, my feet are fairly dark already!
