Change isn't necessarily a bad thing.
Recently, I've felt a bit stuck in a rut, and instead of moping about it, have decided to mix things up a bit to get out of it. You're seeing my blog change right now, and I'm already feeling so pleased that I did it, I'm feeling more passionate and more pleased with my blog than I have in a long time, which is what I set out to do.
On a more simplistic level, I've had a hair change. It was just a box dye, but I feel better for it. I just feel like brunette is much more 'me' than blonde, even though I'm naturally a bit of both. It's dry as a bone and I'm sure hairdressers won't be impressed, but I'm pleased that I just went out and did it. I like it!
One big life change going on is that I'm moving house in two weeks. I was very worried about but I've turned my concerns into a challenge. I always seem to err on the side of hoarding, and I hate it. I've already donated over half my wardrobe to charity shops and am getting rid of everything I don't love or use regularly, and I'm already feeling much better about the prospective move. With this has come a wardrobe change, but I'll talk more about that when I'm more settled with it. I'm trying to slim down my clothes into a small quantity simple pieces that I love so that I will always have something to wear, and I feel like I'm getting there. More on that later!
The other life change going on is that we've started regularly exercising. Loz has taken up running, and I'm trying to join him. It's something I've always wanted to do but never been able to stick with, and it's so much easier having someone to do it with you! We started at the beginning of the week. Three days ago he hit his first 5k, and I hit my first 1k. Without stopping or walking. Not a big distance for some, but a huge deal for me. (Also, well done Loz, I was seriously impressed with 5k straight off the mark!) I've also been walking daily and doing some at home work outs too, and I'm feeling good! Would you be interested in a post on starting to get fitter? Let me know below if you do!
So that's pretty much all the change going on around here. It's fairly huge when I think about it all together, but for the first time in my life, I'm more excited than apprehensive about it! I'm fascinated to see where we will be in a few months time. Have you made any changes lately?Labels: change, exercise, hair, life, thoughts
