Moving home can be a rather stressful experience. You can probably tell by my lack of online presence this past week how completely time and life consuming it can be. I'm finally writing this from inside my lovely new home, sat at the table in my sweet new kitchen, of which I just can't wait to share pictures with you! This was my third move in as many years, yet I'm already feeling more cosy and settled here on day two than I did when I left my previous two houses. I have a good feeling about this one!
The moving business itself can be tricky. If you're a bit of a 'collector' of things like me, there can be an awful lot of stuff to move. We've been fairly adamant about doing things ourselves up until now, but for next time, I'm not sure I can face packing our lives into the back of a Ford Fiesta (multiple times!), and might call in reinforcements, or at the very least, hire a van! I personally very much underestimated the amount of possessions I actually own so ended up in a bit of a panic when it came to putting everything in boxes.
We were very kindly helped out by Eco Movers who were absolutely lovely and sent us one of their packaging packages, which turned out to be an absolute godsend! They do pre-made ready packs of packing materials, which saves money on buying boxes individually, and is so useful to get everything together. Ours included 8 Medium Cartons, 10 Large Cartons (which were actually very large!), 2 rolls of tape and 100 sheets of white paper. I actually can't recommend this enough if you're planning a move, it included everything we needed and actually left me feeling so organised and so much better about the whole affair! I wasn't sure I was going to need the paper to begin with, but it proved it's weight in gold as it safely housed all of my more delicate items such as perfume bottles, crockery and my acrylic storage. Eco Movers also offer storage, removals and a 'man with a van' service, which I will definitely be more inclined to go for next time to avoid so much moving and lifting! If you've got a move coming up, I'd definitely recommend checking out their website!
Now I'm finally settled, I can't wait to get back to blogging properly. Things have been a bit up in the air over the last few months, but with a comfy new spaces and the desk I've been lusting after for over a year arriving this week, it's time to get back to business!Labels: home, life, moving
