I've seen a lot of people talk about giving themselves a word for the year, rather than a list of goals, and I actually love this idea. It's concise and clear, and so I'm going to give it a go. My word for 2015 is Organise.
I have too many things. I hoard pretty but useless clutter and struggle to get rid of it on the chance that I one day might find a use for it. Sometimes this comes in handy in terms of craft projects, but most of the time it's just frustrating. Stuff gets everywhere as there isn't enough space to store it, and when it comes to having to move, packing everything up becomes nearly impossible. For years I've wanted a 'minimal' home, with everything tidy and put away neatly, but have made it far to difficult for myself by filling my home up with stuff. So this year I've set myself a project to sort it out! 'Get Organised' is a giant goal that looks fairly scary to even start, so I've set myself a project; I've written out all the areas of my home that need sorting and everything inside them that needs to go through. I've started already and managed to get rid of a giant bag of beauty products; having a slimmed down makeup stash is already feeling amazing and so liberating! I thought I'd keep you updated on the process and will be sharing any tips and tricks I pick up along the way, plus, in sharing it on here means I'm actually going to need to stick to it and get it done! I'm already really excited about it, having started, the end goal is suddenly a lot easier to visualise. If you've gone through a big clear out/declutter, I would love to hear any tips you have to share!Labels: life, project organise
