Dark Neutrals: My Perfect Lip Shade

favouritelipshades Despite being a bit of a makeup junkie, it took me a long time to get to grips with lipstick. I've tried most colours available but had a hard time finding one that didn't just sit on my lips and look out of place, or didn't wash me out or bring out any redness in my skin. I found that red hippie was pretty much a no-go, making me look ill, and if I wanted a bright shade, then fuchsia pink was the way forward. This still left me a little clueless with what to wear every day. I love the idea of nudes but again they just didn't love me. I finally gave in and realised I needed some professional help, and thanks to a lovely lady in my local Space NK, ended up with an almost rose-toned, neutral dark pink in the form of the Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Bettina. I adore these pencils, they are so easy to use and have a gorgeous matte finish, and amazingly, the colour suited me to a tee. Since then, I've used the shade to base future purchases on, and I have to say, I have finally found my perfect shade! Just in case that it's your colour too, I thought I'd share the other versions I have since picked up...

Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Bettina
Mac lipstick in Creme in your Coffee (Cremesheen)
Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution lipstick in Very Victoria
Mac Lip Pencil in Boldly Bare
Urban Decay Naked Gloss in Nooner
Mii Shimmering Lip Sheen in Tempt (08)

So I've ended up with a rather nice little lip colour wardrobe, that amazing, all suits me, making it so easy to pick a shade to wear in the morning! I'd love to hear what your perfect shade is!
