Despite being a bit of a makeup junkie, it took me a long time to get to grips with lipstick. I've tried most colours available but had a hard time finding one that didn't just sit on my lips and look out of place, or didn't wash me out or bring out any redness in my skin. I found that red hippie was pretty much a no-go, making me look ill, and if I wanted a bright shade, then fuchsia pink was the way forward. This still left me a little clueless with what to wear every day. I love the idea of nudes but again they just didn't love me. I finally gave in and realised I needed some professional help, and thanks to a lovely lady in my local Space NK, ended up with an almost rose-toned, neutral dark pink in the form of the Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Bettina. I adore these pencils, they are so easy to use and have a gorgeous matte finish, and amazingly, the colour suited me to a tee. Since then, I've used the shade to base future purchases on, and I have to say, I have finally found my perfect shade! Just in case that it's your colour too, I thought I'd share the other versions I have since picked up...
So I've ended up with a rather nice little lip colour wardrobe, that amazing, all suits me, making it so easy to pick a shade to wear in the morning! I'd love to hear what your perfect shade is!
