When I think about French beauty, it’s always skincare that springs to mind. Having fallen deeply in love with brands like La Roche Posay, Avene and Bioderma, Escentual rapidly became my favourite online shopping destination, finding all of those lovely brands in one place for affordable prices, and UK shipping. They recently got in touch and kindly asked if I’d like to try out a new range by Rene Furterer; Lissea for unruly hair.
Now I’ll admit right now that I am in no way a hair expert. Every couple of days I use shampoo and conditioner and then leave it to try however it fancies. If I’m feeling adventurous, I’ll add some waves with my curling tongs, and if I’m feeling lazy then it gets thrown into a bun and can often stay there for days. So not exactly anything adventurous, and I’m not a big fan of anything that requires too much effort! My hair is naturally straight and fine but with an awful lot of it; left to it’s own devices it will sit (almost) straight, fairly flat and boring at the top, but is in the habit of frizzing up at the bottom. I’ve tried lots of de-frizzing products in the past but ultimately gave up due to them completely weighing down my hair and leaving me bearing a frightful resemblance to the girl in The Ring, so not exactly ideal. This had left me a little apprehensive towards lotions and potions that claimed to fight the frizz, but I went for it anyway.
The three products I have been trying out from the Lissea range are just so light. The product itself feels weightless on your fingers and then melts gently into your hair, instead of slathering it. It feels like it’s making a difference to the hair itself rather than coating it, and because of this the effects of it seem to continue up until you wash it again. Made with winter cherry extract, it has a gorgeous scent that stays in your hair which I absolutely love, as well as a really lovely smoothing effect. It minimises flyaways and makes my hair feel really soft and smooth. The conditioner is deeply nourishing and leaves my hair feeling soft as soon as I get out of the shower, and the leave-in smoothing fluid does the same to keep the effect going. I absolutely love the thermal protecting spray, if I do curl or straighten it, it feels much happier, especially on the ends that have the habit of getting rather dry. Overall, I've been really pleased with the results of the collection, and love what it is doing to my hair!
