Vichy Purete Thermale Beautifying Cleansing Micellar Oil c/o Escentual
Purete Thermale Fresh Cleansing Gel c/o Escentual

You might have noticed from my recent posts on skincare that I've developed a bit of a love for French skincare, thanks to the wonderful site that is Escentual, where you can find some amazing brands that ship to the UK, usually with a good deal on too! The one brand however that I didn't know so much about was Vichy, so when the lovely people at Escentual got in touch and asked if I'd like to try some new products from their Purete Thermale range, I of course said yes!

I've always had a bit of a love/hate relationship with cleansers. They are of course an essential part of any routine to try and keep clear skin, but I've been through so many that just didn't quite cut it, or just weren't quite right, that I was actually a little skeptical that I'd ever find the right one. My most recent favourites were cream based, so I wasn't quite sure what to make of this gel and water based duo when it arrived. I was totally intrigued by the Micellar Oil. I'm sure most beauty lovers will have tried the magic that is a micellar solution for wiping away tricky eye makeup. I have to say that this was actually love at first cleanse, and I haven't really used anything else since! It's a super light oil that you massage over your face, add a bit of water until it foams ever so slightly, and rinse off. On rinsing, it takes everything off with it, and I mean everything - waterproof mascara included! It's got a lovely light scent and leaves skin feeling super soft and fresh. It really is a lovely product! The other is a thicker, gel based solution which is perfect for a deeper clean. I've been using this in the mornings for a double cleanse after the Micellar Oil; it's gentle yet powerful and leaves you feeling oh-so clean, perfect for a little skin detox after a night out or a heavy makeup day! It has the same fresh scent, both products make great morning cleansers as they leave your skin feeling cool and ready to go for the day. I love them both and think they are great for different purposes, but I have to say that I absolutely adore the micellar oil, it's overtaken my other cleansers for the top spot, and one that I can see being a permanent part of my routine!

Have you tried any products from this range? What did you think?

*Both of these products are currently 1/3 off on Escentual, but only until tomorrow!
