Following on from yesterday's post about my serious wardrobe downsize, I've also made a big effort to really clear out my beauty stash. One of the things I seem to hoard the most is lipstick; I don't wear anywhere near enough to justify the amount I had, and I seemed to be holding on to some that were far too old. I got rid of anything that was past it's best date-wise, and tried to slim it down to the shades that I actually wear! My collection is now much smaller but I'm pleased with it as it's all shades I wear, so I thought I'd share my favourites!
The Nude: Mac HoneyloveI treated myself to this shade for my graduation, I'd been after the perfect nude for a long time and went on a recommendation from Rosie which turned out to be absolutely perfect! It's a gorgeous warm nude and one I absolutely love!
The Hot Pink: Nars Satin Lip Pencil in Yu
No collection is complete without a hot pink right? Yu is the perfect bold pink for brightening up a rainy day. I prefer bright pinks over reds so this one is one of my favourites!
The Everyday Pink: Mac Lovelorn
This one is a nudey pink for when you're after a bit of colour but without it being too much. With a nude eye this is a great day-to-day shade!
The Berry: Urban Decay Sheer Revolution in Shame
This one looks super dark in the stick but makes a gorgeous dark berry red on the lips. The formulation is super glossy so is more like a heavily tinted balm. This is the one I always reach for on a night out!
The Dark Nude: Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution in Very Victoria
Possibly my most luxury makeup item, this one is my 'smart' lipstick, one I use when I'm dressing up a bit! It again looks really dark as it is but creates a lovely light brown nude, one I find really compliments my skin tone and warms up my complexion!
The Almost Red: Clinique Pop in Poppy Pop
The latest addition to my collection which is rapidly becoming one of my favourites! I had some boots points saved up and after trying this on a while ago, I decided I needed it in my collection! I'm not really a red kinda girl but this pinkish coral red is a gorgeous shade for when I'm feeling brave with my lip colour!

Ah so pleased you got and love honeylove! :) x
ReplyDeleteI think lip products are just so easy to buy, they are usually cheaper than palettes and other things. Also they are so small it's like it doesn't matter lol -but because of that we end up with far too much. I like what you've got, I've been after that Urban Decay one for a while now...it looks beautiful! And the packaging is really cool! :) xx
ReplyDeleteHello Carrie! I love te kinda red one, i think like you about reds on my lips but that must seems so nice. One question about mac lipsticks, have you tried please me or pink plade? I really love them in pictures and the shade seems so cool and im thinking about buy one of those but as you know they are quite expensive so... would you recommend me them?? Thank you so much! Very fan of you in Insta ;)
