I've never really been a watch kind of girl. I'm the sort of person to pile on bracelets and wrist wear, but when it comes to watches, I've never found 'the one'. That is, until this beautiful piece of carpentry came into my life! When I was first presented with the idea of a watch made of wood, I really wasn't sure how that would work. For some reason I envisioned a block of wood fashioned around your wrist, a la resistant materials lessons at school. How wrong I was when I laid eyes on the creations of beauty made by JORD watches!

I was very kindly sent the absolutely beautiful Cora in Koa and Rose Gold . It was a love at first sight situation when I got it out of it's sweet little box. It had been measured to my wrist size and so fit like a glass slipper. As a fairly petite lady, I love how delicate the watch is. The face doesn't swamp my wrists at all yet is big enough and clear enough to see at a glance. The rose gold face is truly stunning, inlaid with swarovski crystals and a little peek into the mechanism, it is truly a beautiful site to behold.
As I mentioned earlier, my initial thoughts on being made of wood were assuming it to be large or clunky, but the wood really makes it such a special watch. It's oh-so light, making it so comfortable to wear. The beautifully crafted segments are smooth and polished making it feel a part of your wrist. The colour and tone in the wood are stunning too, it really is a truly beautiful timepiece!
EDIT: Very excitingly, I now have a gift card for JORD up for grabs! Enter using the widget below, this giveaway will run until the 8th!

Ah I love this watch too! I was lucky to be sent the exact same one, I'm yet to blog it. I adore the back of it too!
