The word, season, colours, smells and feel for this week have most definitely been Autumn. It's getting cooler, darker in the evenings, and starting to feel cosier at home. As it is my favourite season, all of these things have succeeded in making my whole week rather lovely, so I thought I'd share some of my favourites!
Number One is definitely finding my first pumpkin of the year! I'm going to make a soup I think, but in the meantime I'm enjoying having it on display in my kitchen.
I've also noticed this week as the start of the leaves really trying to turn. There are crispy red and yellow leaves beginning to blow around the streets, and they really do make everything look so pretty!
I'm getting really into festive flavours and have got firmly back into the habit of dusting everything I can find with cinnamon and ginger. Pumpkin coffees all round please!
Loz and I also took a trip to ikea which resulted in new pillows (a boring yet lovely treat!) and a whole load of flannel tartan bedding, the cosiest ever! On top of the stack of checked blankets we've been hoarding, and my new fairy lights, it's starting to feel really cosy around here!
I've noticed a real change in the light too. Around 6.30pm a stunning golden glow has been setting in, and we've been trying to make the most of it with evening walks after getting home from work. That might be my favourite thing about this time of year!
I apologise for recycling my instagram pictures on here but I've actually been so pleased with some of my snaps from this week. I've eased up on my strict 'bright white' theme and am allowing things to be a bit more relaxed and cosy on there and am really pleased with the results. I'm also loving Pinterest for finding plenty of Autumnal inspiration, I've got plenty of boards ready for this time of year so do check them out if you love it too!
